Dori Griffin: Type Specimens Workshop

 

The Workshop

Dori Griffin will be leading a workshop inspired by her newly published book, Type Specimens: A Visual History of Typesetting and Printing. In this workshop, attendees will cut and paste typeforms together to create their own, new type specimen. The workshop will last for an hour and fifteen minutes.

This event is a part of AIGA Louisville’s Women in Design Spotlight Series. The series aims to highlight women in various sectors of the design industry, providing a platform for women to speak about their work and personal journeys.

The Raffle

Every attendee will automatically be entered in a raffle to win a free Type Specimens book, signed by the author, Dori Griffin. Attendees can also buy her book directly from the event at a discount, along with a limited edition souvenir poster by Brad Vetter!

About Dori Griffin

Dori is a researcher and educator working to build a more inclusive, equitable future for design scholarship and practice. She specializes in teaching graphic design history, research methods, typography, and print design. Her published scholarship documents and deconstructs the artifacts, producers, and consumers of 20th c. popular visual culture, particularly as related to issues of local and practice.
