Verena Gerlach is a Berlin-based graphic designer noted for both her type design and her book design. She designed the typeface FF Karbid Pro, inspired by Berlin storefront letterings from the 1920s and 30s. Her book, Karbid, is about the making of the typeface. “This book is not meant to be an essay and picture book only, but much more a colorful description of the typeface FF Karbid Pro and its making.” In addition to her book design and type design, Gerlach will talk about a recent project in India — combining topography with embroidery.
