Come learn the basics of the popular app, Procreate, at the “PRO” workshop with Matthew Walsh. In this workshop you’ll learn how your experience with software such as Adobe can be adapted and used in Procreate. Learn, clipping masks, brushes, working in layers, animation, and other painting and drawing techniques in either lettering or illustration. Matthew will provide resources and tips to help you in your journey with creating art and work on the iPad.
This is billed as an introductory workshop, though artists and designers of all skill levels are welcome to join! It is recommended that you purchase the app, Procreate, via the App Store before attending the workshop.
Matthew Walsh is a typographer, illustrator, magician, El Camino enthusiast, and all around bearded guy who received his Masters in 2D design from Cranbrook Academy of Art. Since then he has worked and taught in Portland, Oregon; Fort Wayne, Indiana; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Normal, Illinois; and recently Spalding Creative Arts at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. He primarily works with typewriters, photocopiers, and the iPad and the resulting work involves typography, portraiture, illustration, the grotesque, and history, especially in how it relates to narrative and language.
